Laptop Battery Charging Poblems

Without charging notebooks they are useless, it is piece of incredible machine which is of no use. Charging capability made possible the mobility of laptops from one place to another. That gives such a huge success to this nature of computers. Now laptops are used by every company to maximizing their productivity. Charging this machine is important to keep the work going on. The more laptop used more charging is required. We do not give any importance to charger adaptor which charges the laptop and take that for granted, in fact it require as much care as a notebook its self. We use laptop with charging plugged into laptop regardless of what the charge is left in laptop, whether it is 50% or its 100% charged already. What should be done when laptop is fully charged?, we should remove power cable of charging adaptor this way we save some life for our charger adaptor and help our notebooks recharging cells also. However, we just let it get charged even after it’s fully charged. What does happen in effect to it is, it reduces the life time of charging adapter and it usually burns and stops charging the laptop. It costs about 50 $ to 75 $ to purchase new charger for notebook. If laptop brand is apple that can be even more costly.
To continue charging after when notebook is fully charged can also be dangerous for notebook it self. If charger, during charging the laptop stops working, it can be risky for laptop also and can make its electronic chips stop working. It can also burns the capability of charging cells to stop charging and charging process of laptop can stop and put the laptop to stop working all together.I highly recommend from my personal experience that one should remove power chord from electric plug when either laptop is fully charged or its not plugged with laptop for charging purpose. It will be better if charged is disconnected from electric supply and can put it on when it is required. It is also recommended that one should remove charging chord from laptop when laptop is fully charge, because keep on charging fully charged laptop can be dangerous to laptops and of course to charger it self. Just use charger when charging is going down in the notebook else keep it removed while using your laptop.

Laptop Brands

There are so many brands in giant computer market which are developing laptops/notebooks under their name. These brands are creating laptops of different sizes for different requirements and needs of users. Some laptop brands are expensive and some are not, but every laptop manufacturing company is trying to introduce some thing which is yet to be shown in to the market. There were times when only couple of companies was in the race of manufacturing laptops, today competition is immense and every brand is targeting specific audience with specific features for specific needs. Every laptop brand has certain market ratio in different countries and every laptop companies manufacture laptops to special class they are targeting.
All Laptop manufacturing companies manufacture their models in to categories. This is example of Car manufacturer companies who build same car in standard models for general public and same car in saloon or executive models for executive class people, Laptops are built with same approach. You will find notebooks with executive touch and look for professionals on executive seats, these kind of laptops will have better and elegant and sleekly look, very light weight and perhaps smaller screen size to give ease in mobility and of course better battery life also. These laptops comes with heavy pricing which can cost 1500 to 2000 $ and even more. Brands conscious users might have to pay even more to get laptop of their choice.

There are laptops which are specially designed for working class people, this class can be defined into managerial staff. Notebooks which are designed for such class normally economically efficient, Looks for these notebooks are very normal. These laptops can be heavier to carry and may not come equipped with latest features and mobile technologies. These laptops are built with basic computing needs and not many features are installed into it that makes prices to lower side. New and economical laptops come with at least Wi-Fi feature for accessing wireless LAN, this feature has become standard in all kind of laptop categories. Special and high tech features are normally not present in such types of notebooks. They will have average battery life around 1 to 1and half hour. It can have weight up 3.5 Kg. There is certain number of users who want their laptops system heavy, these users play games on their notebooks. These games are not ordinary and neither do they require normal system to run, they are heavy 3D games which require Core 2 Duo processors and very heavy graphical card support to run games smoothly on systems. Games like Need for Speed carbon is example which require good amount of memory in graphical card for playing game. There are some games which are on multiple DVDs, multiple DVDs for one single game, Windows normally gets installed quicker than these games. One can well imagine how efficient system requirements need to be met to run such kind of games. Some times high performing laptops are required for special skill performances also, Professions like Graphical designing, Advance engineering and technical usage would require specific needs in laptops. Such kinds of laptops are available in market, but again special features come with special pricing.

Laptop Overheating Issues

How to position laptop while working?

When i say how to hold or position laptop while working, it means the position in which notebook is placed while working over it. Performance of laptop is some times directly dependent on the way laptop is placed while in use. What we take advantage of being laptop and mobile computer, we place it on our bed, sofa or some time even in our laps just to relax and feel real comfort while working. This position is actually put laptops in real battle. It performs all its function by applying the maximum power of its processors. When processors functions to its limits, stability of notebook operating systems goes down.

Laptops contain processor on which there is one fan placed over to keep the inner portion of notebook cool. The harder notebooks works, hotter its equipments become and this heat is important to be exhausted out side the laptop . There is one exhaust fan place right beneath the laptop in most cases; the function of this fan is to release all the heat of laptop. When we position our notebooks on soft places like Beds, Sofa's and our laps it does not allow the heat to get out of the machine and it makes machine hotter. If you touch machines body that time you would feel the heat on the outer surface of laptops. This heating up machine will slower the machine down, puts its performance way down. It is highly recommended that one should not place laptops on such soft places. Its important for heat to be exhausted out to keep performance up to the mark. It is recommended to place laptop on computer table where surface is harder and heat can easily be drained out by exhaust fans. There are laptop pads available in market for placing laptops on when using softer places, notebooks are placed over this pad to avoid laptop getting heated up.

Usefull TIPS - Purchasing a Laptop

Purchasing a laptop is a large investment, and one that can be complicated by all of the options, manufacturers, and technical mumbo-jumbo that needs to be sifted through. Before you spend a lot of money on a laptop, it is important to spend a little time considering some basics that may affect the decision-making process. This Tech Tip will take a look at five of the innumerous things worth considering when buying a laptop computer.

Ergonomics:

If you are going to be spending any significant amount of time working on this laptop computer, you're going to want to be comfortable. A well-designed interface is essential for comfort, as well as good health. Carpal tunnel syndrome or tendonitis may be some of the more common conditions associated with extended computer usage, and selecting the most comfortable laptop may help avoid them all together.

The keyboards on laptops generally feature compressed layouts with smaller keys, which may place a strain on hands and wrists as users try to adapt to these miniature arrangements. Generally speaking, the larger the laptop, the larger the keyboard, as they are usually designed to span the entire width of the unit.

Most laptops use either a touchpad or tracking pointer (knob) as a replacement for a mouse. These may be adequate for occasional use, but even the best designs can become frustrating and uncomfortable when used extensively. Plus, when used for game play or other applications where precise motion is critical, they just don't cut it.

Purchasing a separate mouse may be the best bet, as it allows you to place your arm in a more familiar (and comfortable) position, as well as providing something that may fit your hand much better. Notebook mice are available in a wired or wireless version, and generally feature a slightly smaller footprint than your typical mouse.

Connectivity:

Being able to connect to common devices is just as important on laptops as it is on desktops, but being able to add these connections down the road is not as easy on a laptop. Upgrades aren’t as easy on laptops due to the basic design, so make sure what you need is included up front.

Wireless networking is almost a must-have feature on laptops now. The cord has been severed to every other shackle confining you to your desk; don’t let network connectivity hold you back. Wireless networking adapters are available as upgrades via either PCMCIA cards or USB adapters, but many now offer it onboard, hidden inside the system’s housing. Integrated wireless is the best option if available, as it requires fewer accessories to carry and to configure, and leaves those expansion ports open for other uses.

USB 2.0 may be the most common peripheral connection, and many laptops may still come with just one port. That’s fine if you don’t mind carrying around a USB hub, but the more you have to carry, the less mobile you are. A good example of the importance of USB is that many people decide they want to use a separate mouse for ergonomic reasons, and generally it will connect via USB. On a laptop with just one port, you now have to juggle the use of the mouse with connecting anything else, like a digital camera, MP3 player, or an external hard drive.

Notebook Buying Tips

Why notebook became so popular? It has been estimated that notebook sales has increased an average of 20% per year in the United States alone. Among the many advantages it offers, portability is one of the main reason people end up making a purchase of it. However before any purchase is made, other features should be considered as well.
Notebook was first made available in the early eighties. Although much heavier and bulkier than today's notebooks, it had the unique portability feature that put this innovative product in a class by itself. Although not much of a commercial success then, it gave the computer industry a goal to pursue in manufacturing this item with better weight, size and performance ratio and making one of today's most wanted computer hardware.
Notebook size has got much smaller, however big enough to make one feel very comfortable in handling and operating computer related tasks. One can find it in sizes best categorized as: 1 - Tablet Pc has the size of paper tablet and weighs no more than 4 pounds; 2 - Ultra Portable is a little bigger than Tablet Pc and weighs around 4 pounds, no internal CD or DVD drive, display of 12 inches or smaller; 3 - Thin and Light is a mid-size notebook, 10-14" x 10", 1 to 1.5 thick, and weighs around 7 pounds, wireless network capability, 14-inch displays, combo CD-RW/DVD; 4 - Desktop replacement is the largest category of notebooks, more than 12 x 10" and weighs more than 7 pounds, 15-17 inches displays or larger, wireless network capability, combo CD-RW/DV.
Also an important feature one should look for is performance. Notebooks provide very close performance in comparison with traditional desktop computers, and should handle all computer related tasks with great ease. Whenever purchasing a notebook, make sure it has the latest cpu model, large ram memory and hard disk space. Notebook performance is directly related with cpu clock, ram memory and hard disk space. For these items, big is never enough.
Another feature one should look for is the dvd player. It can come in handy for entertainment purposes, enabling one to watch movies while traveling. Wireless connection is also a feature to look for in a notebook. Some notebooks feature an infrared port, which can be used to connect a mobile phone. Also there are other wireless technologies such as Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, which allows mobile phone, printers and PDA to e connected at certified public and private network. The ability to have a mobile connection is definitely a plus in today's connected world.
Expansion capability for notebooks can be done thru the use of plug-in pc cards. Although there is a new standard called ExpressCard, which is smaller and faster plug-in card that provides more features for multimedia tasks.
Notebooks have certainly become an item required for one's mobile computer related tasks, whether it is used for public, private, personal or professional purposes. Its portability and small size make an attractive all around computer hardware item. For those looking for mobile computer hardware, notebooks can certainly become a good solution at affordable prices.

Netbook Buyers Guide

The netbook form factor offers consumers a low-cost ultraportable notebook in a market segment where notebooks used to cost $1,500 and up. With most netbooks costing less than $400, they are cheap enough to buy one in addition to your full-size notebook. With the vast majority offering Intel Atom processors, these portable computers can handle most daily tasks with ease. In this buying guide we compare the different models we have reviewed to help you find the best netbook to fit your needs.

Buying the Perfect Netbook

Currently the netbook standard is one of the easiest computers for consumers to purchase, with most models on the market offering the same Intel Atom processor and Intel integrated graphics. The only thing that really separates netbook models is the type of storage medium they use, the screen size, and the size of the battery.

If you plan on storing movies and music on the netbook, a higher capacity hard drive model would be a better choice, instead of the much smaller SSD. In some cases it can be the difference of 8GB of storage compared to 120GB. The next area is screen size, with models coming in either the 8.9” size or 10”, but sharing the same resolution. If you enjoy having a larger screen to work with, the 10” models can be easier to read, and you usually have the benefit of a larger keyboard. A new Dell Mini 12 goes even further with a 12” screen and full WXGA resolution, but that is an exception to the netbook market. The last hardware difference comes down to the capacity of the battery of the netbook, with 3-cell, 4–cell, and 6-cell battery sizes offered.

Couch or Classroom Friendly?

Battery size can play a key role in how you intend to use the netbook, with some models spanning a couple of hours, and others working for up to 6 hours. The difference comes with the size of the battery that comes with the netbook. Some models like the MSI Wind or Acer Aspire One come with 3-cell and 6-cell battery configurations, which can mean the different of 2-3 hours or 5-6 hours of battery life. If you just intend to use the netbook on your couch or around the house where external power is not an issue, battery size probably isn’t a big deal. If you intend to use the netbook in the classroom or while traveling, it is highly suggested that you find the biggest battery possible.

SSD or Hard Drive?

Besides the huge storage capacity difference between the SSD and hard drive models, there are a few added perks of each. Most of the hard drive models on the market use a standard 2.5” SATA consumer drive that can be easily upgraded or replaced down the road. The SSD models might be limited by capacity or lack an easy upgrade, but they offer shock protection and better battery life. If you find yourself being rough with portable electronics, it might be wise choosing a model with a flash memory SSD. If you are looking to get increased battery life some SSD models have an edge over HD models as well.
